Gallica & partner swimming clubs have teamed up to create the must-attend gathering of 2008. Attending will be the legendary Duncan Goodhew who won a gold medal at the Moscow Olympics in 1980!
Throughout the day, we'll be encouraging swimmers of all ages to test themselves in a sponsored swim to see how many lengths they can achieve in twenty minutes and twelve seconds (20:12). All participants will have the opportunity to have a photograph of themselves receiving their own gold medal from Duncan.
The event has two primary aims: First is to ensure participants have a great day and receive their gold medal with a great photograph. The second aim is to raise funds for each participant's swimming clubs/schools/etc through their swimmer's getting sponsored, which will be split 50/50 between the club/school/etc and Gallica. This can be your big fundraising event of the year!
We are involving children, youth and adults from across Lancashire, to boost the profile of their organisation and raise Olympic awareness.
